I use evidence-based coaching methods based on the CoActive coaching model and follow a proven, step-by-step process to track your growth and ensure your success.

1

Schedule a FREE Sample Session

Before you enter a coaching relationship with me, I like to meet you first and coach you around a topic of your choice. This will give you a sense of what coaching is like, and give you the chance to ask any questions you have for me.

2

Attend your Discovery Session

If you decide I will be a good coach for you, we will meet for a longer Discovery Session where we will go deeper to clarify your values, long-term goals, and what you want to get out of coaching.

3

Participate in Weekly Coaching

After deciding on 1-3 long-term goals for your time in coaching, we will meet weekly or biweekly for coaching. You will bring a topic to each session that you want coaching around, and you’ll leave with insight and action steps to get you closer to where you want to be.

4

Assessment and Completion

We will assess your progress toward your goals every 3 months. By the end of your program, you will have measurable results. If you decide you need more time in coaching, you can always add on more sessions. You can also restart coaching in the future to tackle new goals!

Certified Coach with Versatile Experience

I came into the coaching field with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I completed a second major in honors humanities while in college, which gave me a nuanced understanding of systemic racial and gender inequality, environmental justice, the economic and psychological impact of consumerism, and enduring harms caused by Christian nationalism and purity culture in America.

After completing one of the most intensive ICF-accredited training programs, the 180-hour Lark’s Song Certified Coach training program, I became a Lark’s Song Certified Coach. I pursued additional education in the field of positive psychology and well-being research by completing the Lark’s Song Well-Being Certificate in 2023 and continue to be a life-long learner.

Testimonials

Elliot helped me move through the many mentally stored “computer tabs” cluttering my brain. He made space for all my thoughts, goals, and forward action steps which delivered clarity. I’m deeply grateful.

Elliot is courageous and brilliant. He has a gift for explaining the complex. He is a special human and coach.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is coaching? How is it different from counseling, mentoring, consulting or advising?

Coaching is a professional, co-created relationship between a trained coach and client. Coaching can help get you from where you are right now to where you want to be.

Coaching is different from counseling because it is based in positive psychology research, leveraging values and strengths, and moving forward rather than processing past experiences. This contrasts with the diagnosis- and deficit-focused approach of traditional psychology and counseling.

Coaching is different from mentoring, consulting, and advising because it assumes that you are the expert of your own life and the one who is able to change it. I bring my expertise and skills to the session and help you access new perspectives and stay centered in your goals and values. Essentially, a coach helps you help yourself rather than advising or telling you what to do. Unlike a mentor or consultant, a coach does not need to know much about the topic you bring to your coaching session for coaching to be effective.

My coaching practice is largely based in the CoActive model of coaching.*

The CoActive Training Institute’s website describes CoActive coaching this way:

“[It] helps you strengthen your sightline, get out of your comfort zone and grow along the way. It’s a way to better understand your own journey […] to help you design your own life’s quest by rediscovering your courage to be the one you want to be.” **

Who is coaching for?

Coaching is broadly applicable to a variety of people, but it is not for everyone. In order for the coaching relationship to be powerfully transformative, both the coach and client have to commit to believing that change is possible, and the client needs to commit to being open to change and putting in the effort to put their coaching insights to action. My job is, in part, to help you grow your confidence and motivation. Your job is to come to coaching willing to look at your situation with new eyes and do something about it.

I am a trans, neurodivergent, and trauma- and religious trauma-informed coach. I love working with BIPOC, neurodivergent, queer, femme, trans, and nonbinary people. I also enjoy bringing my queer lens to coaching sessions with straight and cisgender allies. I have experience partnering with entrepreneurs, artists, people navigating life transitions, and those desiring a bold change.

I always offer a free sample session to potential clients before they decide to make me their coach to be sure that we “click” well. If you or I do not think I am the right coach for you, I have connections with many other certified coaches who have different styles and specializations I can refer you to.

How long do clients typically stay in coaching?

It takes a minimum of 3 months for a person to create a new habit or lasting change in their life. Because of this, I like to meet in person or virtually on a weekly or bi-weekly basis for 3-6 months. I offer 3- and 6-month coaching packages with flexible payment options to help you stay committed and save a bit on my services in the long term. We will draft the terms of your contract collaboratively to suit your specific needs and goals in your initial discovery session with me.
